Beata Klimkiewicz PhD

Mrs. Klimkiewicz conducts the following courses:
"World Media", "European Media Policy", "International Communications" as well as  "Nationalism, Ethnicity, and the Media".

Senior Lecturer, Political Scientist.
Her academic interests are centered on European media  policy, European and world media systems, studies on  pluralism and diversity in the media, inter-cultural communications, the media of ethnic minorities.
She is the manager of a media policy working group, a director in the Management and Steering Committee in the COST Action A30 project entitled "East of West: Setting a New Central and East European Media Research Agenda" financed by the European Research Foundation and by the European Commission.
Mrs. Klimkiewicz is a member of the Panel of Experts on Freedom of  Religion and Belief Systems in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and also, as an expert, works with the Open Society Institute in Budapest as well as with the Peace Institute in Ljublana.

She is the coordinator of the Socrates-Erasmus Program in the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, and of international programs in general.  

She has been awarded scholarships by the Foreign Office in Great Britain, as well as by the Open Society Institute at the University of Oxford in 1996-1997, by the Pew foundation at Columbia University in New York City in 1998, by the NIAS (Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences) in 2002, as well as winning the Jean Monnet Scholarship at the Institute of the European University in Florence in 2003-2004.
