The Media Knowledge Olympiad is an annual competition giving secondary-school students the opportunity to gain admission to the best Polish universities.
The Olympiad is organized by the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw, and the Minister of Education and Science acts as its patron.
The competition aims to popularize knowledge of the study into media in society, especially among secondary-school students, to promote media education, informed reception of media messages and involvement in social communication, develop information-based competence in analysing and evaluating media messages.
