The Department of Research Into Mediatization was established in 2014 with the aim of expanding and deepening analyses of mediatization processes; studies are conducted by Polish and international teams.
We explore the phenomenon of mediatization in various areas of social and political life. The mediatization process is analysed in its multiple aspects: at the macro-level (the social and systemic/government aspect), mezo-level (the institutional aspect) and micro-level (the individual aspect). We conduct research into mediatization of the public sphere) (the role of media in constructing and transforming the public sphere), mediatization of civil society (communication channels and institutions), mediatization of communication at the local and sub-local levels (in local government, non-government organizations, between citizens) and mediatization of politics (electoral processes).
